Daphne Photography
Daphne Vermeulen, born in 1976 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, started her interest in photography at Atheneum. She took a professional training in photography at the "Fotovakschool" in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, while studying at the academy of art in Arnhem, receiving a degree in photography and Art.
Besides photography Daphne developed her own style of art painting under her former label Imola Art. Her paintings are varied in colors and used techniques whereby themes diverge, from emotional, expressive to erotic.
Daphne has exhibited at galleries and other public places throughout the Netherlands, such as “Art Primeur 2000”, and she delivered photo material for the “Siemens Calendar 2003”.
Now living in Curaçao, Daphne continues to photograph people, landscapes and other subjects as she did travelling around the world.
" I need nothing more than being in the obscure, with the camera in my hand. Finding the right portrait, the right lighting conditions, the right coincidence of circumstances. I want to read people’s eyes, understand the street life, fix impressions and eternalize the moment. During my journey of discovery I embrace digital photography and do not eschew image editing when it has an added value on the end result.”
